Best of Italy is a project that promotes Italian artisanal tradition: it’s a journey that leads us to understand the value of the culture of every Italian district. Unique artisans, working with precious and natural materials, collaborate with young Italian talents in the creation of a capsule collection.
During this second edition of Best of Italy, Serena Confalonieri, Sara Ricciardi and Roberto Sironi, worked with Franco Fasano, a well-known ceramic artisan from Grottaglie district, Puglia.
This collection was born from the interpretation of the three designers: Serena Confalonieri created Afra, the vase-centerpiece reminiscent of the face of a swimmer, Sara Ricciardi’s Pupe, are a declared homage to the white flasks of Salento area, and the Roberto Sironi’s Fondali, are inspired by archaeological finds from the sea, transported into the contemporaneity.
Afra is a figurative vase , complete with colored cap, that resembles a swimmer’s head. Her face, engraved on the ceramic, brings back both to Art Deco illustrations and African masks. The cap has the double function of tap and bowl.
Best of Italy is a project by Elle Decor Italia and Coin Casa Design.
