Lanificio Leo presents Panoramica collection, designed by Serena Confalonieri, 4 jacquard woven pieces 100% wool, which double as a plaid and a tapestry.
The collection was conceived during the days spent by the designer at Soveria Mannelli (CZ) together with the whole Leo family; after listening to their stories, experiencing their daily lives, and visiting the local surroundings, the designer tried to hold back the images that filled her eyes on her return. The collection blends the sharp duality existing in this ancient wool mill, suspended between past and present, between culture and production, in a territory bordered by both the sea and the mountains.
These memories and feelings led to the idea of creating a collection that was a faithful portrait of the land and local culture of such specific region in southern Italy. Four postcards sent to the world: souvenirs from a beautiful holiday and a warm invitation to return.
Lanificio Leo presenta la collezione Panoramica, disegnata da Serena Confalonieri, composta da 4 elementi, con doppia funzione di plaid ed arazzo, realizzati in lana 100% con tessitura jacquard.
La collezione nasce nelle giornate trascorse dalla designer a Soveria Mannelli (CZ) insieme alla famiglia Leo, dai loro racconti e dalla loro quotidianità, dalle immagini che le hanno riempito gli occhi visitandone i dintorni, e che lei ha cercato di trattenere al suo ritorno, dalla dualità che caratterizza il lanificio, sospeso tra passato e presente, tra cultura e produzione, in un territorio a sua volta toccato sia dal mare che dalla montagna.
Questi ricordi e sensazioni hanno portato all’idea di realizzare una collezione che fosse letteralmente una fotografia della terra e della cultura di queste zone del sud Italia. Quattro cartoline spedite nel mondo: souvenir di una vacanza e caloroso invito al ritorno.
